Interview with Denise Jacobs
In this interview I speak with Denise Jacobs about being creative. Denise has been writing and speaking about creativity for some time now. She has influenced web designers around the world with her articles on A List Apart, “Banishing Your Inner Critic” and “Reigniting Your Creative Spark” as well as her books The CSS Detective Guide and InterAct With Web Standards: A Holistic Approach to Web Design.
It has been a true pleasure to speak with Denise. Her enthusiasm is contagious. I hope that you take away as much as I have from this interview. There are so many great people in this world who give you that spark. Denise is among the best of them.

First off, I must give credit where it is due. I got most of my information on OpenCart Clean URL’s from PHP Genious. In this post I will explain how friendly or clean URL’s work in OpenCart.
Clean URL’s are built into OpenCart 1.5. To use SEO URL’s you need to enable them under your stores server settings, rename the .htaccess.txt file and add your SEO keyword for each product and category you create. The keywords will not be created for you. You must also have Apache mod_rewrite turned on. Most web hosts will have this on by default.

Convergence is usually seen as a good thing. A cellphone can also be a music player, a point and click camera, a video player as well as a handheld gaming device. Not bad for something that also makes phone calls and sends text messages.
But to have all of your websites, your databases and DNS zones on just one server is pure folly. If one site experiences heavy usage or loads, it affects the (let’s say) 40 plus sites that you have next to it. MySQL will say “Too Many Connections” and you will have to SSH into the server and kill each and ever PID that has anything to do with MySQL. Even the ones that look real innocent have to be killed.
