This is a personal list of items that make a great content management system from a management, design and development perspective. Flexibility, stability, access, development process and management process being key.

Here is the list of advanced features I would put in a system. This doesn’t include the basics as it is a personal list of items for me to expand on later. You can come back for more. I do plan to make my own Open Source CMS one day but not until I have had what I deem enough experience. Three years from now maybe.

The day I denied Batman

Watching reruns of the 1960s Batman defined my early childhood. I lived on the edge of our family sofa. My eyes transfixed on Adam West, the face of my hero, the Batman.

In this interview I wanted to speak with Chris Coyier about unicorns and rainbows. However, he convinced me that CSS was a much better topic. Chris is the coauthor of “Digging into WordPress” and creator of CSS Tricks. Chris is a world known CSS expert and HTML guru. He also works at Wufoo making web forms fun, easy and modern.

I hope you enjoy this interview and learn a few things in the process. I think Chris is one of the funnest people to meet and talk to so I know you will love this interview. I also would like to thank Chris for taking the time to do this interview and share his thought with us today.

I love it when someone else writes a blog post so good that when you want to write about the same topic yourself all you need to do is link to their site. Today I want to share an excellent post on localizing your WordPress themes and plugins.

Localizing a theme simply means to make its static content translatable for people who speak another language. This is important if you plan to sell or share a theme or plugin under the GPL. I personally need to do this for my plugins on WordPress.org.

I’m working s on nifty little site today. I must rave about how easy Drupal makes building members only websites. I mean it is just insane. I need to do a demo at some point, just to show off.

In no time I have been able to restrict content access. Not only on a single page and role level but also on a per user basis within dynamic views lists. I’m talking like 3 hours and we have a site up and running.
