Using a service and its API is the best way to send email from a website or web app. They protect you from ISP filters and spam folders. Postmark is one of the best. This little JavaScript widget gives you an elegant iPhone popup. Add to Homescreen acts as a notification box for the action button on the iPhone. Drop any message you want in it. “Add this site to your home screen,” is not a bad idea. I think is is perfect for mobile web apps.
